A client from the valve industry located in Detroit, Michigan recently contracted our company to construct a series of press stamped and folded steel covers using our stamping technology. This cold rolled steel cover is used within a solenoid application. Employing our 150 ton straight side press, Waterbury Contract Eyelets & Stampings, Inc. was able to press stamp and fold the part complete in just one operation, using only one machine, while still upholding (+/-) .0015 inch precision tolerance.
Constructed from cold rolled steel material, each cover measured 1.385 inches in length, .691 inches in width, and 1.478 inches in height, with a wall thickness measuring .025 inches. Joint tabs and .25 inch notches were also stamped into each unit. Additionally, we plated each component with black zinc, providing the covers with a durable, corrosion resistant finish.
Using precision measuring equipment, we performed a comprehensive series of dimensional inspections, ensuring that all parts met customer supplied design specifications. Through one extremely efficient operation using only one piece of equipment, we constructed a series of high-quality electrical motor covers for the valve industry. Each part successfully met with absolute client satisfaction. |
