Using our advanced deep drawn stamping technology, Waterbury Contract Eyelets & Stampings, Inc. constructed a series of 1100 aluminum detonator cups. These 1100 aluminum detonator cups are used within automotive airbag applications, as well as in other military applications. Employing a 2 out progressive die placed in a 22 ton minster OBI press; we were able to machine the part complete in just one operation, using only one piece of equipment, while still upholding a tight (±) .0005 inch precision tolerance.
Constructed from high, quality 1100 aluminum material, each part measured .165 inches in length and .145 inches in outer diameter, with a wall thickness measurement of just .006 inches. We also performed a series of dimensional inspections, using precision measuring equipment, to ensure that each part met with precise customer supplied design specifications.
